Firstly, you need to consider the genre of the music being promoted - how is the theme of rock and hip hop presented through the typography, image and colour? You also need to consider the image in much more detail - what kind of shot/angle is being used and why. Consider the positioning of the person in the image and their facial expression. Consider the clothing and accessories and how all of this links with the strap line being promoted. For example: The God strap line in Vibe - how is this being complimented by the colour, clothing and body language of the artist? You also need to consider other features on the front cover such as other stories and incentives being offered. Why and how would this appeal to the target market? Consider the use of colour more carefully - consider how it helps to promote the theme and genre of the magazine rather than just stating that red has connotations of this and that.
